Avoiding Cancer One Day At A Time
Practical Advice For Preventing Cancer
Cancer Prevention Gift Guides
We spend time agonizing over the right birthday or holiday gift to express our love for our loved ones. Why not make the time and money spent help keep your loved ones around for more birthdays or holidays? We offer a list of ideas that will express your love, and possibly lower their risk of cancer as well!

Birthday Gift Ideas

1.   For her. A special mug and packets of hot cocoa together with a copy of the new book
"Delicious Conversations, Unexpected Moments of Joy" by Dawn Morningstar and Ruth Godfrey. Hot cocoa has twice
the antioxidants ofgreen tea. Sipping this while learning how to converse in a magical way is sure to be a gift
remembered long after the flowers have wilted.

2.   For him. A bottle of red wine from the province in France known for the highest antioxidant content of its wines, and
very long life expectancy. Our recommendation is "Chateau Bellevu Peycharnea" 2003 Nordeaux Superieuer from
      Girnade France.

3.   Dark chocolate and strawberries. A bar of dark chocolate has as many polyphenols (cancer fighting antioxidants) as
that found in two days diet of fruits and vegetables.

4.   A romantic getaway to a spa (or at least to a hotel with a pool and exercise room).

5.   A coupon for sleeping in. An ideal gift for those with young children. Sleeping less than six hours per night is
linked with a higher risk of cancer.

6.   A gift certificate for a massage. Need more be said?

7.   Potpourri or cinnamon sticks. Many air fresheners, both standing and electric, as well as candles, can emit
carcinogens. The aroma from potpourri can spice up the air and ignite your olfactory receptors without contributing
      to cancer risk.

8.   Slippers. To keep his or her feet warm...and to avoid the carcinogens that can be brought into your home on
      the bottoms of shoes.

9.   A houseplant decorated with loving decor or housing a vase with a rose. Long after the flowers fade, the plant
will continue to absorb toxins in your loved ones surroundings.

10.  Making whoopee. A healthy sex life (safe sex in a monogamous relationship) appears to lower the risk of
cancer in both men and women.
